ANSWERS TO BEATLES Q'S:

Thanks to Fred, who was 4 for 5.

1/ According to the book, Their hearts Went Boom, the Fabs-en route to their first Canuck gig in Vancouver-touched down for refueling at Winnipeg, Manitoba.

2/ As Fred noted, although Beatlemania-a knock off of the UK With the Beatles- appeared first in Canada, it was actually the Fabs' second LP, and their first Please, Please Me, appeared several months later, as Twist and Shout. In addition, neither LP was offered in stereo in the 60s.

3/ Yes again, Fred, the first Canadian Beatles single was Love Me Do, and it stiffed, initially

4/ Although this may be splitting hairs, the first EX-Beatle to perform a concert in Canada WAS in fact George Harrison in 1974. When John Lennon brought the Plastic Ono Band to Toronto in September, 1969, he was STILL officially A Beatle, riding high on the Abbey Road release.

5/ According to no less an expert that Bruce Spizer-and Fred-NO Beatles Butcher was ever released in Canada, although some will swear they either bought one-Oh why did not buy that!-or at least saw them in the shoppes.
