The Beatles AGAIN
1/ What was special about the version of Hey Jude on the album Hey Jude?
2/ Was there a mono mixed Yellow Submarine album?
3/ What was the first commercially released Beatles CD?
4/ When beatle albums first appeared in North America, approx 80% were sold in the mono format. What year and album pushed the ratio of stereo over mono, and led to the discontinuation of mono Beatle LP releases in the US.
5/ Who was the only logical "fifth Beatle?"
ANSWERS LAST TIME OUT
1/ Yes, BS&T, and no one seemed to care.
2/ Sorry Fred, so far, the FULL Hendrix ser has NOT been officially released in any legit format.
Two songs sung by a band mate, including Gypsy Woman, have never made the cut.
3/ Yes, those rascally Dead boys would not take a cheque, and forced promoters to go into town and wake a banker, open his vault, and get the band's dough., or no show.
4/ The short-lived Kosmic Blues Band backed Janis, but would soon be out.
5/ Yes Fast Freddy, there was an omission, although the Who's Summertime Blues was NEVER on the original LP soundtrack in any of it's forms; movie only. (A mono boot of the complete Who Woodstock 69 show has circulated, however). But the song that was left off the 25 Anny box that had fans and critics scratching their heads and bitchin', was in fact Wooden Ships, by Crosby Stills, Nash and Young. Finally, the Woodstock Diary I was thinking of was a companion 1994 singles CD release to the box set, that included otherwise unreleased material, including Sly and the Family Stone.
