Questions About 43 Years Ago Today (Well if you read it, today)
BEATLES:
1/ What song was performed by the Fabs at the afternoon rehearsal of the Feb. 9, 1964, Ed Sullivan Show that WAS NOT performed for the live telecast?
2/ Who stood in for George Harrison at the rehearsal(s).
3/ According to lore, how did a very ill George make it to the show?
4/ Who was the precious NYCity DJ who John Lennon can be heard calling a "wanker" in a famous doc about the Beatles first US visit?
5/ Was the Beatles Feb. 9 performance the most watched TV program in US history?
ANSWERS LAST TIME OUT:
1/ As far as Surround Sound formats go, many experts cite Dolby Digital DVD-A as the "best," followed by DTS and SACD. Arguably, DVD-A posts the best tech numbers, that perhaps your dog can hear.
2/ Bethel, New York.
3/ Kanuckistan's kapitol, Ottawa, Ontario.
4/ Edie was sort of like a modern day Paris Hilton, only a lot more talented. Andy Warhol took Sedgwick under his warped wing, and she died of an OD at age 28. The new movie, Factory Girl, is based on her life.
5/One of the first-if not the first-was the still running Meet the Press on NBC.

Now, you know I wasn't going to let you get away with that...:)
First of all, Dolby Digital is NOT DVD-A -- they're two separate technologies (though Dolby does handle the licensing of DVD-A).
DVD-A should come out on top because it's lossless, as is Dolby's TrueHD. Close behind would be HE-AAC and SACD. After that would be Dolby Digital and DTS -- pretty much at the same level, despite many claims to the contrary.
Both Dolby and DTS have newer versions of their standard codecs also -- Dolby's is DDPlus, which supports 7.1 channels and very high data rates -- which would rank a bit higher than DD and DTS.
